Our friend, Earl Campbell, is a legendary American football player known for his powerful running style, dominance on the field, humility, and heart. Born in Tyler, Texas, in 1955, he rose to fame as a star running back as a Longhorn at the University of Texas, where he won the 1977 Heisman Trophy.
Drafted first overall by the Houston Oilers in 1978, Campbell became an NFL icon, earning Rookie of the Year, NFL MVP honors, and multiple rushing titles. Affectionately nicknamed "The Tyler Rose," he was inducted into both the College Football and Pro Football Halls of Fame.
